We know that your puppies need to be social with people and will have to be handled by people they do not know very well. Our third lesson will show you exercises to help condition your dog for handling so that they have the best manners.
Puppies develop into dogs. Like humans, puppies must pass through stages of development as they become adults. As puppy owners, it is advantageous to know about these stages, approximately when to expect them, and what to expect from each stage. It is not instinctual for us to handle each stage of development correctly. This lesson can prevent common puppy-raring mistakes.
Next, we discuss crate training in detail. The crate is a misunderstood training tool that teaches our puppies essential lessons. When done correctly, crate training is a bonding experience that builds trust.
For many puppy owners, house training is a real challenge. I help many families through the process of house-training their dogs. This lesson considers the four fundamental principles we use to house-train any dog of any age.
The course ends by introducing you to games you can play with your pup to build good behavior and communication skills. Training is better when it is fun, and young puppies love fun as much as we do.
